QUALITY

Although we use the best presses & ink to produce each screen print, that alone does not produce a quality garment.
Our continued strive for excellence in both quality & efficiency ensures we can consistently produce some of the best screen printing for the t-shirt & garment industry.

SERVICE

We are not a faceless organisation & don’t ever plan to be. We are close-knit team.

From first contact you’ll have a dedicated customer service rep for every step of printing your t-shirts & all future garments. No details are lost due to getting passed around to multiple staff. Each order, whether bulk or not will need to be checked & signed off by you before any screen printing goes ahead. We are real people, so feel free to say hi.

EXPERIENCE

We have experienced staff that have been with us since we started in 2010.
We treat our staff like family. Having a good culture, with everyone on the same page is very important to us. We know some print shops can be chaotic.
Inexperience & poor organisation affects the final product, as does stressed out or dissatisfied workers, & never forget about you, the client. We would not be able to do what we love without you.

COUNTING PRINT COLOURS

A GUIDE TO COUNTING COLOURS IN YOUR ARTWORK

The price of your screen printed clothing depends on a few variables. The first couple are the garment & quantity. Artwork can be more complicated. We know this can be confusing, so we’ve written this guide to help you get a quote more accurately.

If you don’t have time to read this guide, or you’re still unsure after reading, you can always drop a preview of your design over to us in a chat message, or an email & we’ll get back to you with a colour count.

UNDERBASES

The first thing you should consider is whether your print needs an underbase. This is required if any of the print colours are lighter than the garment colour. An underbase is a white ink which is printed first, which gives a neutral base for the colours to be printed on top of. This ensures the colours are accurate & vibrant on darker backgrounds. Think of an underbase like an undercoat that you’d use before painting.

WHY CHARGE PER COLOUR? WHY ISN’T IT A FLAT RATE?

Screen printing requires a screen to be made for every colour in your artwork. For each colour (or screen) there is a labour & material cost which has to be covered for each screen made. This is why the price goes up as the number of colours increases.

We hope that helps! We know it can be confusing, so if you’re still unsure how many colours are in your artwork, please drop us a quick preview over chat or email & we’ll be happy to help.

DTG – PRINT QUALITY

HOW DTG PRINT QUALITY CAN VARY

WHAT TYPE OF DTG COMPANY SUITS ME?

Who you order from can really effect the final print results. Here’s a brief run down of the business models you typically find with DTG printing:

Single piece, high volume

Often offering 24 – 48 hour turnarounds, these companies are great if you need a one off shirt, fast & you don’t really care about what it is & how the print looks. Their business model is cheap & fast, but the quality can suffer.

Print on demand

Larger companies that are mainly selling promo or branded items often work with printers that offer print on demand services. This usually involves you integrating your own store with their software, so when your store gets an order, they print & ship it for you, typically the same day. The downside of this is it is quite difficult to find a company that have great service, speed & quality. You need to be confident & trust that they won’t send out sub par or defective items directly to your customer & that they will appropriately handle any issues that crop up.

Bulk, promo

Often offering cheap pricing, but with a high minimum order. Most of the time they will also offer print on demand, but not always. Perfect for cheap promotional items with a bunch of print colours, in a high quantity. You often sacrifice quality for a lower price.

Bulk, fashion

This is where we like to be. While we do offer lower quantities & sampling, we factor in extra time for making up digital proofs which need approval before any printing goes ahead. We also test thoroughly to ensure we are happy with how the print looks before producing your order. Due to this, we are a little more expensive than the other models, & slower than the 24 – 48 hour options but the quality speaks for itself.

VARIATION IN QUALITY

DTG is potentially more accessible than screen printing, after all its just “pressing print” right? Not exactly. As with screen printing there is a learning curve, so while it can be easy enough to get into, mastering the process is what can set you apart from other companies.
